Went to JB last weekend and visited The Zon, the largest duty-free shopping mall in Malaysia. Beer is quite cheap, here's the price list:

Alcoholic beverages can be consumed within the designated areas such as the beer garden, hotels within The Zon etc, unfortunately once it's taken out from The Zon, have to declare to Kastam at the exit point and pay tax.
