A Lesson From Geese

Scientists have discovered remarkable things about geese flights.

1) As each bird flaps its wings, it creates an "uplift" for the bird following.
By flying in a "V" formation, the whole flock adds 71% greater flying range
than if the bird flew alone.
Moral: People who share a common direction and sense of community
can get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling
on the thrust of one another

2) Whenever a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and
resistance of trying to fly alone, and quickly gets back into formation to
take advantage of the "lifting" power of the bird immediately in front.
Moral: If we have as much sense as a goose we will stay in formation
with those who are headed where we want to go (and be willing to accept
their help as well as give ours to the others)

3) When the lead goose gets tired, it rotates back into the formation and
another goose flies at the point position.
Moral: It pays to take turns doing the hard tasks and sharing leadership
with people, as with geese, we are interdependent with each other.

4) The geese in formation honk from behind to encourage those up front to
keep up their speed.
Moral: Our honking needs to be encouraging. Outcomes are more powerful
when there is support and encouragement. Individual empowerment results
from quality honking.

5) When a goose gets sick, wounded, or shot down, two geese drop out of
formation and follow it down to help and protect it. They stay with it until
it is able to fly again or dies. Then they launch out on their own, with another
formation, or catch up with the flock.
Moral: If we have as much sense as geese, we too will stand by each other in
difficult times as well as when we are strong.

The video was completed and uploaded last week, I'd been busy for the past week. Finally, I can catch my breathe. Alright, this video applies the same rolling method, and credits to Akira for the japanese songs he provided in the making of the video.

This time, I had a minor issue with youtube, which they muted this video bcos of the songs copyright issue. It wasn't as serious as the first infringement in my previous post. I just simply click a song they provided, which has the same length as my video, let them recalibrate and tada, it's okay already.

For god sake, the content is not even owned by NetResult at first place. How can Youtube be so blatant about this? Why not state the rightful content owners as dailymail or other TV channels with EPL match broadcasting rights?

Today, I checked my printer cartridge ink levels. Annoyingly enough, all cartridges are new except yellow and black which has been very low for quite long.

So I decided to waste them, first thing came into my mind was pictures of bee!?! Nah, too girlish. Then, a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo. Errm, too flashy. How about a black woman wearing yellow bikini? No, that's too provocative... So, finally I got a little more creative, I decided to print radioactive logos.

After I found some suitable pictures using google image search and printed them out, here's the result.

Today my celica engine was finally blown at 2:45pm, I waited anxiously for 35 minutes for rescue, another 15 minutes to reach the garage. Mark, the mechanic, told me my engine is blown, it would cost me 250pound to get a new engine, another 600 - 800pound to get everything sorted out. Due to the exorbitant repair cost and age of the car, I finally decided to declare my car SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification).

I'll never forget the highways we cruised along, the mountains and blind corners we attacked, and all the great roadtrips we enjoyed. I'm so sad to see you die, but you're terminated. Goodbye K27 FYK.

Hie fellas, today I will tell you my favourite british snack... It's pork crackling / pork scratchings. In hokkien, we call it "Bak Pui". In cantonese, i think it's called "Yok Pei". Correct me if I am wrong.

This is not a snack for the faint-hearted, it's oily, it can be very salty, its texture is hard and potentially a health hazard especially for those who have clogged heart arteries. If you don't have strong teeth, don't even try to eat it becoz I swear it will break your teeth. Anyway, here are a picture of the four brands I ate before.

Sustainable Monopoly Strategies

Previously, I achieved total monopoly through deliberate mortgaging exercise. Today, I found a quicker way.

Build hotels on Purple, Light Blue, Pink and Orange units after every property is acquired. Make sure u own Get-Out-of-Jail cards, if not... buy them, $30 shud be enough.

The trick here is to keep opponents well funded so they survive each round. How? By performing jailcard buyback. My estimate is each opponent needs $3000 to survive your rentals in each round.

This is how it works:
1) Sell jailcard to opponent for 1 dollar.
2) Buy back with the top up amount (Say opponent got $1300 left, buy back the card with $1700)

Repeat this step until you have $9500, this is the amount required to build hotels on remaining colours.

Advantages of jailcard buyback:
1) Quick total monopoly, took me 2-3hours. DME can take over 6 hours

2) No unmortgaging fees

3) Keep your opponents happy

Here's how I did it in 3 simple steps.

a) Trade every property computer owns with my cash.
(could be anything ranging from 500 - 3000, depend on your luck)

b) After acquire every property, mortgage all properties.
(so computer won't go bust)

c) Start to accumulate 16k.
(Sum required to unmortgage all properties and build the hotels and houses)

The net wealth stood at 20 785. YES !!!

I just arrived Sheffield 3 hours ago, and I already missed Food Loft at Penang's Gurney Plaza. Terrific seaview, free wifi, the atmosphere is great and they only play Putumayo Italian Cafe album. The food is okay, a bit pricey.

Sleepytime Herbal Tea
(chamomile, mint, and flavourful herbs) hmm trade secrets
story: I like the cute bear packaging, aid sleep?
Not for me, but it does put me in a relaxation mood.

Morning Detox

(lemon, limeflowers, milk thistle and lemon verbena)

Story: My fav, I drink almost every morning, cure hangover quite effectively.

Jamaican Herbal Tea
(Sarsaparilla)
Story: Went in a Jamaican store, I thought this tastes like Sarsi,
but after drink liao not the same at all,
more like chinese herbal tea, very regret loh !

Digestif
(fennel seeds and peppermint)
story: minty flavour, and it does help digestion a bit, perfect drink after a meal.

A Moment of Calm
(african rooibos, strawberry & vanilla)
story: Got attracted by the word strawberry & vanilla, smells good, a good buy !

PG tips
(usual english tea)
story: I bought this 160 teabag pack because of a free gift, a hat.
It tastes slightly bitter and some tealeaf aroma, just the way i like it.

All boxes open with a cup of strawberry tea on the right.

One big happy tea family on my shelf (except the Bacardi rum :p)

Narrow Escape from Car Accident

After I dropped my bro in town, I used Jln Mesjid Negeri (Greenlane) to go back Sg Ara.

Then a blue 3-series BMW (PBA 80) changed to left lane without knowing there was a dark blue Saga beside him. Poor Saga swerved left ramming up the curb just after Convent Green Lane.

I was right behind, and saw everything clearly eventhough it was raining. I made a rapid exit to the right, and missed the Saga bumper by few inches. Close call for me.

I hope the Saga driver is alright and not injured. Meanwhile, Mr. BMW please look at your side-mirror next time ur about to switch lane.

Lame New Housemaid Rules

About two weeks ago, prior to the new maid arrival, my mom asked me to type and print out these lame rules meant for the new housemaid. Don't laugh ok! I spent some time looking up malay-english dictionary to translate some words.

These are the lame rules !!!

Tugas & Tanggungjawab Pembantu Rumah
Jobs & Responsibilities of Housemaid

Pembantu hendak melaksanakan kerja rumahtangga dengan cekap, ikhlas dan bersih.
The maid has to perform house chores effectively, sincerely and spotlessly.

Pembantu hendaklah mematuhi segala arahan majikan berkaitan dengan kerja rumahtangga. Tak boleh malas kerja, harus rajin.
The maid has to obey every order from master regarding house chores. She cannot slack, must be hardworking.

Pembantu hendaklah sentiasa bersopan-santun, berbudi bahasa dan menghormati majikan serta ahli keluarganya. Jangan bertengkar atau membantah bila majikan membetulkan kesalahan kamu. (Jangan balas mulut)
The maid has to be polite, courteous and respect the master and fellow family members. Do not argue or disagree when master tries to correct you. (No bickering)

Pembantu tidak boleh main telefon. (Bayaran kos telefon mahal) Kalau ingin telefon balik rumah atau kemana-mana, harus minta daripada majikan.
Jangan kasih nombor telefon majikan kepada kawan atau orang lain tanpa pengetahuan majikan.
The maid cannot play with phonecalls. (Cost of phonecall is expensive). If there is a need to call back home or anywhere else, she has to seek permission from master.
Do not give out master's numbers to friends or other people without master's consent.

Jangan bergaul atau berbual-bual (sembang) dengan pembantu jiran-jiran di samping rumah.
Do not mingle or chit-chat with neighbors' housemaids nextdoor.

Tidak dibenarkan cari teman lelaki.
Jangan bawa teman atau kenalan ke rumah majikan.
Jangan cakap dan buka pintu kepada orang tidak kenal
The maid is not allowed to seek boyfriend.
Do not bring friends or acquaintances back to master's residence
Do not speak to and open door to unknown persons.

Pembantu hendaklah mematuhi undang-undang dan menghormati adat dan tradisi majikan.
Jangan sengaja mengingkari arahan majikan (disobey)
Jangan sengaja mengabaikan tugas (neglect duties)
Jangan kasak atau sengaja pecah alat-alat di rumah
Jangan tipu majikan
Jangan cakap bohong and tidak amanah (dishonest)
Jangan curi wang dan barang-barang majikan.
Jangan mengambil apa-apa yang bukan milik kamu.
The maid has to follow rules and respect master's customs and traditions.
Do not disobey master's order.
Do not neglect duties.
Do not be careless and break household items deliberately
Do not lie to master
Do not talk falsely and act dishonestly.
Do not steal master's money and belongings.
Do not take anything that does not belong to you.

Pembantu rumah mempunyai sikap jujur and rajin, pasti disayangi majikan nyonya.
Housemaid that has honesty and hardworking attitude, will be loved by master.
